Absolutely! There should be many sixes available near you. I gave away 2 complete 223's and a parts block a couple months ago. Junkyards, Nickel papers, swapmeets, FTE'ers using them for doorstops, etc.

Mostly after the I-6's as in Inline-6 (not L-6 what does the L stand for?), are pulled, they're just junqued, sent to the crusher, melted down, etc.
Good luck, they are becoming harder to locate because of this.

L-6 is a marine way of reforing to a inLine 6.. The reason a L is used id becouse it much harder to confuse a L for 1 when written by hand.. LOL

I thought that the L meant it had half the valves in the block and half in the head. (making it have an L design to it)

Sacramento Vintage lists one for about $125. Clifford Performance has one for about twice that. Those are the only two places I have found. Clifford also has intake manifolds that will accept 2 or 4 barrel carbs. Check the link above for their items. If you go that route, tell us about the performance gains!

How good are those Sacramento Vintage headers? Would there be any barely noticeable performance gain from a set of headers alone, on an otherwise stock engine?

My '60 F-100 has the 223 and a very very short tailpipe. I was toying with the idea of putting headers on it since I intend on eventually replacing the exhaust system anyway.
