Me and my buddy went cruzin over the weekend for the last time before my truck is off insurance and a 99-01 4 door PSD 4x4 longbed auto with a leveling kit, 35's and the only mod I could tell for sure was straight pipe keeps giving me lip. We keep racing from a roll he would win, then I would win. We both decide to turn around and go back up the 'vard.
Well we ended up clear down the road were the speed limit is 55 and nobody is around. We finally hit a red light. He powerbrakes his truck and gets the boost up, i rev to about 2k. The light goes green, my tires turn only about one turn, his tires chirpped and i pull about four car lengths off the line on him. I redlined the beast and quickly shifted into third(well as quick as you can shift a good ol 4-speed) and when i hit about 60 I looked back and he was about two car lenghs behind. I slowed down to talk to them but as soon as i did he turned off. I have never been more proud of the beast.
Ya, the 7.3 wasn't too quick off the line. I bet if you tried that against a 6.0 though you would have lost. When in stock form, my 1997 7.3 PSD had a 0-60 time of about 4.3 (days, that is).
Liters is just another way of saying the size of the engine, just like saying "cubic inches" but in a different measurement. 7.3 Liters = 444 cubic inches. It's really just an easy way to tell one engine from another without actually naming them.
Scott
i knew it had to be a 7.3 cause my pa's 6.0 would give me a beating, those things are amazing. So since my truck beat a 7.3, anyone want to trade me their stroker? Ill even throw in my other two trucks
