Skipping in passing gear
I have a 90 Ford Ranger, 2.9, with 158,000 miles. Recently, when on a road trip, everytime I started up a hill and hit passing gear, the truck would start to skip. Previously, I changed fuel filter, plugs, distributor, fuel pressure regulator and changed wires about 10,000 miles ago. Any other suggestions, or do I stop the "shade tree" and go to a professional?

Skipping in passing gear
Look for a vacuum leak,you can get (for around $40) a computer tester. I got mine at Sears you plug it in and it gives out codes to help locate problems. Hope this helps.
