I just found out the the 302 I swooped in by 93 F-150 is a 95 or newer moter (the firing order changed). The new 302 was complete I just droped it in and I have two questions.
1. How do I find the year of the motor? or does it matter.
2. What so I need to do to with the computer? change to 95, reprogram the 93
Right noe I get 9-10 MPG and have a spout open code that I can't find an open, which leads me to the computer.
That computer is probably fine. As long as everything on the stock '93 wiring harness is plugged in on the new engine, it should be fine. Go through and make sure all the ground wires are connected and are making a good connection. Also make sure all the plugs and connections in the harness are good and tight.

Thanks for any help
Is the spout open?
Do you know what the spout is?
If not: it's a connector on the harness near the distributor. Sort of a plug. Two wires go to it. The "spout" connects the wires together.
If the spout is open (disconnected) then the computer is not advancing the timing. It needs to be disconected when setting the timeing, and connected otherwise.
If the spout is plugged in, then I'm not sure. Probably a short in the wiring or a loose connector somewhere?
Either way, the computer thinks the spout is open. So it isn't advancing the timing. Meaning your timing is locked at 10btdc (or wherever you set). Performance and mileage are likely to bad.
sounds like you got a 302 with a h.o (351 windsor)firing order!someone might have changed the cam in the 302 before, does it backfire or pop, have any kind of power, how complete was the motor(intake to oil pan)you might half to swap your old intake and injection!
