Question Connecting Boost gauge

Anyone connected the fitting to the intake runner that is just behind the fan shroud?
I don't want metal going into the intake and needed to see how this is prevented. My first thought would be to remove the housing, and second to disconnect the intercooler tube.

I'm going to try this to prevent the "flutter needle" effect that seems to be common with the t-fitting MAP line method.

I know what you mean about the pyro install in the exhaust manifold but it is no harder than the boost elbow drill/tap.
If you use the correct size bit,a good sharp tap, and take your time and things will be fine.
