a/c idler puller
I think the pully bearing/bushing is bad,motor squels at 3k.Does it have a bearing/bushing that can be replaced?Can someone till me how it's set up?This is on a 79 460.This is the pulley to adj. the a/c belt.

I had an 82 E-250 with the 460 and I think the idler pulley is the same. Had to replace two of them. The pulley has a square 1/2 inch slot that you can put a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar in so that you can apply tension. Two bolts hold the assembly in place pivot and tightening. You should just replace the whole idler pulley assembly since it isn't that expensive and I'm not sure how hard it would be to replacing just the bearing. Fairly easy to do and the part costs about $25-$35 if my memory serves me.
