clutch,flywheel problems????
I just bought a 83 ranger 4x4 for 50$.the engine was making some sick noises so i pulled the motor this weekend.once I got it pulled I saw what the problem was.The springs on the clutch disc were grinding on the bolts that connect the flywheel to the crank.has anyone ever seen this before?I don't want to buy a new clutch and have the same problem.what would cause this?Any help would be appreciated.would the clutch adjustment have anything to do with this?

The only way I can see the clutch could grind on the flywheel bolts is if the disc is installed backwords.The disc has A center hub with A set of springs in it.One side is flat the other side the hub sticks out.The flat side gos to the flywheel the hub side points to the back of the truck.
