A good shift kit for an AOD?
Will, my tranny is almost toast and I am going to rebuild it. What is a good shift kit to get for it? It is an AOD in my 88 Bronco. Should I go with a stage 1 or higher? Any particular brand? Anyone else have shift kits in their AOD, if so what kind? Thanks!

TransGo is the best for all around usage. Many kits are equal at WOT, but none are as good for part throttle performance(responsiveness, downshifting). They are the most involved(more parts), but their intent starts out with correcting factory symptoms. Good luck,

TransGo has many "correction" kits, for most transmissions, and they are probably around $25-$30. Their performance "shift" kits are about $100 for the AODE, and $110 for the AOD. I still have an extra one for an AOD. Is your planned use general, performance, drag race, or towing?
