Engine swap question.

Swapping a 2.0 out for a 2.8 V-6 in a '88 Ranger. I know I need to also swap out the trans, the bellhousing on the existing trans is part of the case. Question, the engine came out of a '79 Capri and came with a 4 speed manual. My existing trans has a hydraulic clutch, the one that came with the motor appears to have used a cable linkage. Also my shifter is a toploader located near the bellhousing. The one I picked up has the shifter located near the output shaft. Any ideas if I have anything here (transmission-wise) that I will be able to reuse? If not, what trans should I be looking for? Is there a late-model trans w/ hydraulic clutch that will bolt up to the 2.8, or do I need something older that will require me to replace the clutch linkage. Thanks in advance for any help.
