Heat problem

My 95 Explorer heater blows out warm air. The heat guage registers only slight movement while engine is running. When engine is turned off, the heater guage creeps up to a higher reading. Is this a thermostat problem?

I would guess a bad temp. sensor.

When you say heat gauge, I assume you mean the temperature gauge. If it's barely moving, it sounds like it is stuck open. I suggest installing a new thermostat.\\
