Modifying '90 XLT interior light assembly
Wanting to modify or change the interior light assembly of my '90 Ranger XLT.
Problem: there's no way (short of wedging some foreign object between the door and the spring-loaded trigger) to turn off the interior light while keeping my doors in an open position. I don't want to pop the light's cover and pull the bulb either.
Question: is it possible to install a 3-position light assembly from a '90 non-Ford derivative (ie:
Mazda)? Are there aftermarket products for this purpose, and if so, is there a website or phone
number to call?
Looking for ideas, please.

There are two Ford products that I know of that have the three position switch on the light. My '91 Escort had one and my '95 Aerostar has one on the light all the way in the back. As to whether any one of these will fit, I don't know. Good luck
