I was walking by this guys new Ford 6.0 today and when he started it up you could hear the turbo through the exhaust and it sounded so good! What did this guy do to his exhaust? and will it void warranty?

You can hear the turbo through a stock exhaust. You should have asked the guy what he did and who knows if it will void your warranty. It seems like it is a flip of a coin whether or not mod's will do anything. My dealership is mod friendly.
Well this was not stock at all. It sounded sooo good. What is the popular thing that people are doing to their 6.0's in order to get good sound and help fuel mileage?
I was teasing a little. Put a 4"exhaust from the Cat BAck with a different muffler than stock and you can hear the turbo much easier. Motorhaven sells them. If you really want to hear it change out the stock downpipe too. I don't think it does anything more than make the turbo whistle louder and I would not do the downpipe again if I had it to do over because it really did not seem to do anything other than make the turbo whine louder.
I put a 4" Silverline T-304 stainless steel exhaust on mine from www.dieselpowerproducts.com/exhaust. Mine is the single, CAT back system. Sounds awsome! Silverline is made by MBRP.

I put a 4 inch stainless turbo back system that eliminates the cat and I also did a k&n airfilter system at the same time. I noticed about a 50% decrease in turbo lag off the bottom.
I just installed an MRBP turbo back dual kit with cat eliminator pipe. I even cut the muffler off of the Y and put in straight 4 inch pipe. If you want loud and don't have neighbors like me you can get away with this.
Is there a trick to removing the stock 3" downpipe without cutting it or dis-assembling the truck? My '05 pipe doesn't want to come out no matter how I twist it.

This is out of the service manual. It is different for the Ex. If you want the lousy pictures with it, send me a PM with your email address with a space on each side of the @ .
