68 ford shortbed advice
Hey guys I have owned a68 f-100 stepside shortbed for 6yrs now, daily driven. It has a 302 and c-4 conversion w/8.8 rear with 3.73 gears. Ijust refeashed it with a new 302 and it runs fairly respectable.
I waws hopping you guys may know some helpfull info on ths truck And possible give some ideas on differnt ways to take the truck in. Like it deffinetly needs overdrive if i'm going to continue to drive it like I do. suspention,brake and any other upgrade ideas may be help and much appreaciated

you can take the frontend out of a 73-79 and use the disc brakes along with the master cylinder and proportioning valve. also be sure t replace all the bushings while youre at it. the suspension, get some good shocks ( ive got kyb's ) and maybe add a front and rear sway bar.

With a 302, you should be able to put a 5 speed manual in there if you want over drive and better gas mileage. If you are getting 15 mpg highway I do not think you should expect anything much better (up to 18 mpg) because drag and speeds over 55 mph are going to kill the gas mileage. A 302 EFI will get better mpg, then a carb 302 c-4, mated to a OD auto.
