Draining Radiator: Plug Problem

My radiator plug wont come undone...

There is the threaded piece that just sticks out, then a wing nut like piece that rotates free of the threads, not giong forwards or away from the radiator, and then a thin round piece that also spins freely, independent from the threaded piece.

How do you get this off?
I twisted and pulled for 15 mins, to no avail.

If the wing nut like piece is rotating freely, you will need to replace the petcock (drain). Behind the wing nut is a hex piece, usually they take a 9/16 wrench. Be careful not to break the threaded piece out of the bottom of the raidiator. Have never changed one on one of these trucks, you may end up pulling the lower radiator hose to get the coolant out (have a BIG tub to catch it all), then raise your radiator up to access the drain to change it out.

Take your rad out and get a shop to solder a new petcock in for you, try and get the one with the tube extension so you can put a hose on it, makes less mess.
