I don't remember much of it, but I know I went through there when I was very young. They say that people from there really love the machines they drive, and doesn't the Bicycle Race Across America (R.A.M.) still go through there on it's way to New York?
Well Graywolf; I don't know about bike race but yes we buckeye's like our wheels. Did I read where you said or implied that you are from Tenn.? where at? My wife from Lafollette Tenn up Stinking creak. OH well I get lost down there too. If you come to Centerburg Ohio HOLLAR. caddy 53 chuck PS you seem to have good putter skill. Maybe someday I'll improve.
I grew up just North of Columbus. Small town called Dublin. Nice place to grow up. My parents relocated to Southeastern Ohio. Outside the small town of McArthur. I joined the Army in 1983. Don't get back there very often. I really miss the four season changes and snowy winters. I am currently sweating it out in Southeastern Alabama. 74 degrees today.
My earliest years were spent in or around Youngstown, lived in Powell (near Dublin and out by the Zoo) during the gradeschool years, and as an adult spent 8 years in Baltic in the middle of Amish country.
Only thing my wife misses other than family is the multi-colored trees of fall. I don't miss raking leaves. Ohio is a very good place to live OR to be from. Montana is home now.......
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Jan-02 AT 08:59 PM (EST)]I grew up in Lakewood (next to Cleveland), so when I got old enough to have a choice of where to live I drove south until no one knew what a snow shovel was for. My employer (the USAF) has been kind enough to come through for me; only one assignment to Germany in 18 years. All the rest have been to southern bases. I know some folks like the snow, but after growing up behind a snow shovel for 5-6 months of the year, I got burned out early. From my house, I can drive 2 hours to the Winter (Asheville) 2 hours to the spring/summer (The Beach) or stay home and enjoy the late fall. Life is Good in SC!!!
