Supercharge a 1997 F350 PU w/351?
I have a 1997 F-350 XLT w/351. I am not sure which model it is (W/C/M)
I here that a supercharger will not only give you the much needed boost, but also burn fuel a bit more efficiently.
Also, will my engine withstand the boost? I/m not sure how to identify the model of my engine or where to start.
I would appreciate your suggestions.
Jeff

A supercharged motor will actually burn more gas when under boost. Anytime you increase airflow, you have to increase the fuel to support the added power. Under normal driving conditions your gas milage will remain the same.
A stock rotating assmebly can last a while with a good tune. Like I've said before...if you lean out the motor and/or run too much timing then your fun will be short lived, and your motor will become an oversized yard ordiment.
Edit: I wouldn't worry about a dyno run until you've installed the blower and the essential fuel system components. Dyno tunes are costly but well worth it in getting a good tune.
