I just got my 1987 XLT Lariat 4x4 Shotrtbed home and been looking it over. I noticed it has a broken leaf in the left rear. After reading somewhere on this forum that for the best ride, both springs should be replaced as a set.
This truck will be used for highway and pulling an 18 ft. bassboat so I would perfer the best ride.
Where would a good place be to shop for these springs and 4 front shocks online?
Thanks
ZZ
Are you looking for lift springs or do you want to keep it the stock height and just replace the broken one? If you're looking to keep the same height I'd recommend checking parts yards for a pair. The rear springs are the same all the way up through 96 I believe (on those 4x4's).
Is there a particular reason you want 4 shocks up front?
The truck came with 4 front shocks so I thought id keep it original.
No I wasn't wanting to lift my truck just make it ride the best I can.
And i guess I can change the broken leaf.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Gotcha. You may also check F350 spring packs, pre 96. I believe (could be wrong) that they have a couple more leaves for better hauling capacity. It shouldn't cost you more than $100 to get a pair from a wrecking yard. This will save you getting the shaft when you buy them new.
I don't know if you have any one particular kind of shock in mind for the front but I've had good luck with www.ntwonline.com for parts and I know they sell shocks too.
