Continous Power Output : 16Wx4*

and an amp with the following specs.
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-20kHz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 100W x 2 (0.3% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 50W x 4 (0.3% THD)
Per channel into 4 ohms : 40W x 4 (0.08% THD)
running 4 speakers with the following specs.
Power Handling Capacity (Peak) : 140W
Power Handling Capacity (RMS) : 35W
How can you not waste the power put out by the HU, or should I not be concerned with it? Should I run the power from the HU to the rears, and bridge the power from the amp to the fronts?
I'm a rookie when it comes to car audio and have never installled a system.
If you have a decent amplifier, then the power specs of the HU are meaningless. And since the speakers handle 35 watts RMS, then the 4 channel amp is a decent match. And another reason to NOT use a HU for amplfication is if you like to play your music loud and clean, they are not well suited for that. The current and voltage supply capabilities of HU amps are poor. They are good for low to mid volume levels. All this information is dependent on the above mentioned gear being something above "fleamarket" brand. If it is in that quality range, then the advertised specs are a joke and I wouldn't want to offer any advice other than "Good Luck!".
