Has anyone else had this problem? Note that I did say this correctly, the five speed automatic, most people think of the five speed standard. I first noticed problem around 10K miles. Essentially when it shifts gears (up or down and any gear), you hear and feel a hard thud. Occassionally I will also hear a metalic sound that seems to come from the differential. Of course the numerous times I took it to several different Ford dealerships during the warranty, they claimed they couldn't duplicate the problem. Now I'm close to 60,000 miles, and it is getting to the point that it is doing it 90% of the time, although it is occuring more in the lower gears and shifting up now. I was just curious if there were others out there with the same problem and could tell me what it is since the dealerships can never seem to figure it out. This way I can have them check on something. Thanks in advance!
A very easy way for them to replicate it, is to have the service manager ride with you. And hopefully while you are out riding around it will do it, not only once but every time. That should make them sit up and take notice that something is wrong.
