After much research I ordered my new 4x4 Super Duty last week, I thought the options I ordered might be of interest to some one who is wanting more of a work-type truck but still wants a nice looking rig....I wanted vinyl seats, the fold down arm rest/console that is available in vinyl this year, so I went with the XL base truck (you can get carpet delete in the XLT but can't get vinyl).....I added cruise/tilt....single CD player...air of course...The one option I couldn't get and really want was power windows and power door locks, oh well......To dress up the exterior of the XL, I got the XL apperance package that includes the better "jewled" headlights and a chrome bumper.....Originally my dealer said that I couldn't get Aluminum wheels on an XL....after checking, and submitting them on an order , he thinks the order will go through with them....I REALLY use a pick-up in on my farm, so I ordered the Camper package and the off-road package which included heavier front and rear springs and a sway bar and skid plates....I mostly pull trailers and wagons on rural roads at fairly slow speeds so I got the V8...the same truck would be great with the power-stroke or the v10....Since the XL has a black grill, I ordered mine in the dark grey metallic...Black or silver would also look nice.....Now all I have to do is wait six weeks......

 

acpick, your truck sounds very similar to the 2004 F250 XL that I ordered. I ordered mine on a fleet ticket and got power windows and door locks. Philip.

 

My Dealer mentioned that you could get power windows and locks with the fleet order, but he is a small dealer and couldn't do that for some reason.....I wish ford would offer them on a regular basis for work type trucks....I guess most people want carpet and cloth or leather but some of us need a truck you can get in with grease mud and other things all over you and not worry ruining the seats and floor....

 

Like you, I wanted a Super Duty for work and didn't want all the "dressup items" either. I tried my best to get a fleet order so I could have the power windows/locks but failed at that. Still like my truck and have no regrets.
