1985 ford ranger trans problem
i just got this 1985 ford ranger xls ,4x4,automatic,2.8 v6,and everytime i drive long distances and stop transmission fluid comes out of the bellhosing,how can i stop that from happening? and also the floor in the cab need redone so what year floors can match my floor, only 85 ford rangers or what?

Though I haven't seen that trans problem on my Ranger, I have on a Chevy, and may or may not relate to your problem. It was close to 200K, and a serious amount of that was towing. I think it was just worn out, and would overheat easily. It burnt the trans fluid, and eventually would get so low that the fluid would boil out like you were talking about. Since it was so old, and ready to retire, I just kept putting trans fluid in it instead of fixing it. Your other question, I believe 92 and older are the same as yours, but not 100% positive.
