Well, I have the usual little scars from knives and falling down and a few from laser electrolysis, but I have two little scars that are not obvious but are certainly quite significant. (To me) They are from surgery last Oct. and are about 1/4" long. The surgery is called an 'orchidectomy', the scars are where the 'boys' came out. After that there was a few more procedures but really no scars to speak of. (penectomy, labioplasty, clitoroplasty, vaginoplasty) All for $14K CDN, a bargain! (check out those terms why doncha)
The best one is the one that goes all the way across my throat,up my chin.I ripped my windpipe IN HALF when i went thru a barbwire fence on a motorcycle. Also it left scars up my arm.6 months later i crashed snow skiing in Taos N.M. and blew my left knee out, reconstructive surgery.I have a 6" scar on each side of my knee.Afew months ago i had a chainsaw wreck with my right calf-25 stitches, plus a wound that was too torn up to stitch,so now i have some nice ugly scars there. Many scars on my knuckles from mechaniking and fighting. Some scars on my head, scars inside my mouth from split lips. Many small scars all over, too many to descibe. How about emotional scars? I have many!
I have a little scar on my elbow from wrestling grizzy bears...or was that playing with a plastic trash truck when I was 5? Same difference. The weird thing is that I also have one on my knee, and both match almost identically in size and location, to 2 my little brother has.
Worked in a meat packinggplant and picked up three nasty looking scars there:
16" scar on the back of my right leg, guy behind me slipped while cutting on the front quarter of a swinging beef, knife was so sharp it took me a little bit to realize I'd been cut.
4" scar just above my belt line on my right side - near the kidney region, guy on his first day walked right into me while sharpening his knife.
3" scar on both sides of my right bicep, same guy who stabbed me in the back walked right into me while talking to the guy behind him, put the knife right through one side of my arm and out the other. Also have a small scar on my ribs where the point hit a rib bone and stopped. The guy let go of the knife and it was sticking out of my arm buried to the hilt (other times the "stabber" pulled it out immediately). Took the doctor about an hour to work up the courage to pull it.
Farm scars:
14' ugly baseball stitch scar across my stomach where a sickle sliced me open.
Right thumb cut off just above the joint (no thumbnail or print) by a spray of hot hydraulic oil.
1. Bite marks on my right arm from a fight with some guy
2. 4 inch gash on my wrist from a kitchen oven
3. scars all over my hands from automotive work
4. cut to the bone on my right hand from a produce knife while cutting fruit at kroger illegally
5. 6 inch gash on my left hand. yanked a stereo from a ranger at the junk yard and it got back at me.
6. both of my elbows are scarred up pretty badly from bike wrecks and being thrown off an aerostar at 50mph
7. gash completely covering my left kneecap..climbed into a semi trailer and cut it somehow.
8. baseball sized burn on my left leg from a motorcycle accident..was pinned to the ground and my leg sizzled..aww the smell of burning flesh
9. on my right foot i had a clubhouse collapse and a board nailed itself to my foot.
10. cracked my head open on a clothes rack at walmart..ever wonder why ur not supposed to run in the store?
11. cracked my head doing a double backflip at a pool. the diving board didnt have any anti skid stuff on it and i slipped. made a flip and then hit my head on the board. i was unconsious for like 15 minutes. i would have drowned as i dont float but was rescued by a lifeguard
12. was working on a fan when i was younger, had the housing off and was searching on the floor for a ballbearing that i lost. tripped on the cord and it came down on my head...almost died from that one.
13. have two nickel sized holes in my back from gravel...go cart wrecks.
I have tons more scars but I could never name them all...would take way too long.
I have quite a few scars, but the one that is really unique is the 2 ½ inch slightly ragged scar just above my left kneecap. Just next to it is a tiny black dot, similar to a tattoo.
I was 11 or so, we had a number of trotlines set and needed more bait. We were trying for crawdads. Grampa handed me one end of the seine and told me to wade the hole.
About halfway through the drag something whacked my leg, didn’t think to much of it as it was common for that to happen. As we finished it started to hurt, and burn. I said something to Grampa, he dismissed it, saying a stick had poked me.
I rolled up my pants legs, there were two evenly spaced punctures just above the kneecap. In the seine were four, count em, four Cottonmouths, one had gotten me. I didn’t get all that excited. Grampa tossed me in the truck and actually drove the speed limit to the hospital. Took about 45 minutes to get there, by the time we arrived the bite felt like someone was holding a red hot iron to my leg, and it was spreading upward. I never did get al that excited about it, the needles and such scared me more than the bite did.
Short version, the flesh around the bite necrophied and was removed leaving the scar. I still don’t get too bothered by snakes, but I do respect them, and give them any room they need.
7" scar on right calf, bullriding, hung up, dragged and finally stepped on right leg pulling me free.
2" scar on right temple & glass pieces still under skin. One road, at the top of a hill 20 cows, Geo Storm, 90+ mph. I had a seat belt & driver had an airbag. Woke up with the windshield laying on my face. 3 cows never woke up again. 2 went over the top of the car. Other one just made it to the windshield and then slid off the front. SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES!
Many, many scars on knuckles & elbows. Most of the time guys can't just shut up. Myself included.
When I was about 10 I decided to check how tight my bicycle chain was when I pedaled it. Needless to say it did quite a number to my right middle finger.
4" on the inside of knee from metal stake marking where sprinkler should go.
Bad burn from touching really hot indoor cast iron wood burning stove. That burnt all the hair off my fingers. Miscalaneous cuts from things like closing pocket knife on finger, smashing finger angainst sharp part of tailgate. Sometime I wonder about my eyebrow because it sometimes looks like ther is a slash through it, but I dont feel anthing.
i will be gettin a new one soon. got my left thumb with a grinder saturday. boy did that hurt. coderized the wound imidiatly, at least i didnt bleed all over my tuck on the way home to clean it out.
a friend of mine asked me to cut her son's hair..and hes like 5...so i was in the process of doing so and i went to switch guards on the clipper..well i guess he saw the opportunity and bit my arm deep and hard..it bled for quite a while..no stitches required luckily, but lets just say i wasnt happy..i have a white mark on the underside of my right arm from where this happened...i know its not as bad as some of yalls..but the pain was definitely unbearable..
Seems we are all "marked" in some way. My most noticeable scar is the one across mt left palm where I jumped off a fence 48 years ago and landed on a broken Coke bottle. All the leaders, tendons and nerves were cut to all fingers and to this day....I have very little grip in it. My left hand never really recovered fully from that. Other than that....there is a 4" scar where I had a hernia operation 3 years ago.
Yes it did super......but what I remember most from that accident...was the stay in the hospital. I was in a ward and there was a little girl in a bed next to mine that had tried to dry her dog after a bath by holding it in front of a gas oven that was open. Somehow her dress caught fire and she was burned over 95% of her body. I remember her being bandaged like a mummy and when she wet the bed....they had to pick her up to change the sheets. The poor girl would scream at the top of her lungs from the pain. Over the years I have wondered what ever happened to that little girl.
It's funny how you can remember things that happened that long ago, it was 1959, but yet I can't remember my kids birthdays some times. The human mind is a thing to behold.
