Is it ok to use the tow switch like an exhaust brake?

do you mean the tow/haul mode for the torqueshift. if you do then yes, it is designed to help slow your truck down on grades.

Yes, I meant the tow/haul mode. I have owned a couple of Isuzu NPR trucks with exhaust brakes and have been using the tow/haul mode on my 05 SD like an exhaust brake.

That's what it's designed for, leave it in tow/haul whenever you are over 10,000 lbs gcw.

05 F350 PSD CC LB 4X4. I've used the tow/haul mode a few times when the truck is empty. I did this to avoid riding the brakes. Do you think that I am hurting anything doing this? Not sure but it seems like the fuel is shot off to the engine. Thanks for your response!
