Drove the truck to around today and stopped a few times. On the last stop the battery just clicked.... Got a jump and went home and it started after turning it off. Let it sit for a while and went to start it and it just clicked. I have a electric fan which runs after the engine is turned off. I checked the voltage while it's running and it's at 13 to 15 volts at the battery. The truck sits most of the week. Any idea's...
Check your battery voltage when the truck ain't running. If it is twelve or more the problem probably isn't the battery. Good battery and a clicking solenoid switch..... I'd remove the battery's ground cable from the engine block and clean the cable end and the block with a wire brush, re-connect and give it another turn of the key. Heck, check all grounds just cause they should be checked and cleaned every so often anyway (block to body, block/body to frame). Re-post if that don't get it going.
found the battery side of the starter solenoid post loose so I replaced the solenoid for $8 to see if this does the trick. All voltage checked find. When the truck is running at the battery it's about 12-14 volts. I'll post back after a couple of drives to work this week.
