My T-case on my 90' F150 is leaking out the through the front draftshaft. Is the front driveshaft attached like it is with the rear end. Just permatex the castle nut? Or does it require more work?
If your transfer case is a 13-56, there are two places where you can get a leak from the front yoke.
The yoke seal can be leaking or the shaft sealing washer can be leaking. If the leak looks like it is coming from around the threads of the yoke lock nut it is probably just the washer. Just remove the nut, install a new washer and tighten it up again.
If the leak if from around the yoke itself, it is probably the seal leaking. You would need to remove the yoke, pull the seal, install a new one with the right installation tool, reinstall the yoke, replace the washer and tighten everything up.
Sounds like I will not know until I get that front driveshaft off and see where its coming from. What is the "right" installion tool that you are talking about?
