whenever I buy a plant, flower, ect... I put a tiny bit of milk in with the water, and some apple juice. milk gives it protiens, apple juice gives it natural sugars. No, I'm not making this up.

Thank-You for your help.

How many of you love fresh cut Christmas Trees?

I love the fresh cut trees more like Christmas time and the meaning of Christmas. I did have one of those other trees but that went out along time ago. Nothing like going out and looking for a tree to cut down.

just water- and they seem to take a fair amount of it. Ours are usually cut the same day they go up, and in Oregon at this time of the year they're pretty water-logged as it is.

We re-learned an old lesson yeasterday. Never hang edible ornaments on the tree if you have a puppy around. Especially a big puppy. Our Golden Retriever pup ('bout 58 pounds worth right now) was trying to get a candy cane out of the tree, and dumped the whole shootin match over.

yeah just use water, but if you have a filter or anything on your sink dont use it cause it will filter out some of the minerals that are good for the tree. we tie up our tree to the walls so our 160 pound newfoundland doesnt knock it over! happy holidays to you all

I go to the woods or a tree farm and cut it down, then get it into fresh water right away, it is very fresh for more than long enough, about 10 days or so.. Never let the water run out. After that all I want to do is get rid of it! The trick is to not get one that was cut weeks ago, its already dead. In Oregon it is easy to get one fresh, not so easy in other places..

I add a little bit of "Super Thrive" when I put the first water in. With that stuff the tree practically starts re-growing its roots! Heh...not really, but it definitely helps keep the tree drawing up a healthy supply of water.
