Question turn signals??

Okay to start off I did a search already. It leaves me more confused than before.

Turn signals were working. Tried the hazards. Nothing. No turn signals or brake lights. If I turn on the headlights I do have taillights but nothing flashes. I checked the fuses and had to replace a 15amp fuse not sure which one. Still nothing, I even went so far as to replace the TS flasher still no flashers.

Not sure if this is pertinent or not. For the past few days I have been wondering if I was having a problem with the multifunction switch, some stages of the IM wipers there was no movement. Is there an easy way to check the multi switch? Do you guys think that this could be the cause of light problems also?

Could be the multi-function switch but its more likely to be the hazzard switch. The power feed for all flasher and tailight functions goes through this switch because it ties the left and right side lamps together when its engaged. Thats how Ford gets away with one flasher for turn signals AND hazzards. If the hazzard switch doesn't complete the "normal" circuitry when its in the OFF position, you will get the situation you are describing.

Just a side note. I am assuming that your truck is 84 or later model. Prior to 84 the wiring for these lamps was different.

Correction to the previous post...its not ONE flasher for both hazzards and signals, but it is the point at which the left and right side lamps are tied together. And just skip the side note all together, I don't know what i was thinking...I typed that reply at some ridiculous hour of the morning.

Thanks! It looks like the hazard switch is part of the same unit. SO when I replace one I replace it all. Might fix a few problems in itself.

While looking at the power distribution box I noticed that some of the fuses were either in the wrong place or just plain wrong. So I guess I am going to have to check all the fuses per ford specs.

How hard is it to replace the Multifuncton switch?

I've not actually done this one. I know its a pricey item new but as for the actual process, I'm just not certain about the intricacies of the project. Someone has, of that I am certain. If not here perhaps in the F-series forum.
