This past summer I put a BRAND new Holley 4160 w/electric choke on this thing and in the summer it has no problem starting. Now that its getting cold out, it will start and idle for a second and then quit. It will take a long time for it to be able to idle on its own. Is there any adjustments I should make due to the weather? It's like its not getting enough fuel to idle on its own. I havent made any changes since the summer.
It sounds like you need to adjust the choke. With the engine off and cold, loosen the auto choke assembly (usually 3 screws holding a metal retainer) and rotate it so that the choke closes almost completely. This also depends on how cold the temperature is. In the summer, most engines need very little to no choke, but below freezing won't run without it. You may have to play with the adjustment over a couple of days to get it right, but then it should be good to go.

Hey thanks for the reply. When you loosen the screws which way does it get rotated? Towards the front or back? Also what do you mean by "choke closes almost completely" Does that mean that after the adjustment, that its maxed out?
