Bad Vacuum line??? About 18 monthes ago I had a new CD player installed in my dash. 97 150 long bed. About 3 monthes after that I couldnt control the air flow any more. The fan still puts out plenty of air at all speeds but only to the defroster vents. Nothing to the floor or dash vents. The AC works the same way. Any suggestions?

 

Look under the hood between the battery and the firewall. You might have to pull the battery and tray for access. Look for the white vacuum lines coming from the engine to the fender well area and see if they are deteriorated, rotted, corroded or cracked in any way. I have repaired alot of these lines for being damaged. Get some small, about 5/32inch vacuum line, or windhield wiper washer hose and cut out the bad section and replace with the hose. Cut out as little as possible if you are using washer hose because some types of washer hose will collapse under vacuum.

 

Went out to check that. Too darned cold to be messin with the battery right now. I went thru last year with it this way I can wait till it warms up some.
