72 for an 88?
i am thinking of putting a used 72 460 in my truck to replace an 88 460. except for the fuel injected vs carb issues will everything else line up? like the starter, bellhousing ect?

yes. they are balanced differently, so you would need to retainn the balancer spacer, and flexplate from the 72. I have no idea if the D2AE heads will work with the FI setup. I suspect they wont, but I dunno. put a 71 timing chain set in it while its out.
