i have a 1996 f-150 and i put a water temp and oil pressure guage in, i just poked the wire into the fuse for the guage cluster. you can find this one by turning on the headlights and sticking your volt meter on the fuse on the two metal points on top and brightening and dimming the switch. you will see a decrease in voltage. ALSO, make sure you put the wire for your pyrometer on the negative (-) side of the fuse so the electricity has to pass through the fuse first

I have an 01, not sure if anything has changed to 05. I popped out the lights and dimmer panel and tapped into the power to the dimmer switch, (blue wire red trace). If you go to dieselmanor.com, go to installation sheets you will find instructions and pictures of all wires you need to tap into. Good Luck!
