automatic locking hub

on my '93 ranger 4 x 4, i recently replaced a wheel bearing and repacked the auto hub assembly on the RH side. Now when i engage 4 x 4, the wheel wants to hang up and it won't disengage easily either. does anyone have any advice on what i may have done wrong? i lined up the 3 angled tabs or at least i thought so. did i use the wrong grease? it's wheel bearing grease. any advice would be appreciated. I understand that too much grease can cause this! I have not had it happen but I have read about it.

maybe that was it, i took it apart this weekend, cleaned a little of the grease out and put it back together. everything looked fine inside.....maybe i had it timed wrong originally. now it works fine!!! there should not be any pressurewhen you put the hub back on. it should fall right on there flush up to the hub.
