I was thinking about adding some gauges to my F250 7.3 PSD. I don't plan on adding any chips, or tuners. I was going to add a real oil pressure gauge and a tranny temp gauge with numbers. Any other one you would suggest?
ATM-17307 A-pillar triple gauge ( gauges are mounted in )
ATM-3304 Boost 35 psi
ATM-3344 Pyrometer W/ hardware ( thermocouple included )
ATM-3357 Temp gauge ( used for trans temp )
Hope this helps. If you need the oil pressure gauge and are going to substitute any of the above gauges then I would sub the boost gauge due to the fact that the other 2 are going to help prevent catastrophic failure of pistons, turbo, or tranny.
Frank,
Obie's got it covered perfectly. Hope you enjoy the gauges (they look really cool too)! Check out Motorhaven and ebay for gauges and pods too, I got some really good deals there.
Make sure the turbo temp gauge is mounted pre-turbo or you will not get the most accurate turbo temp/exhaust gas temps. You want the temps of the gasses right out of the exhaust manifold from the engine. The turbo extracts energy out of the exhaust gas so the temps on a gauge after the turbo will be off 200-300 degrees F. And never let the turbo temp read higher than 1250 deg F (again pre-turbo temp) or the oil and your motor will be cooking/coking.
