c6 leak
hey i have a 77 with a 351m and a c6. the trans seems to be leaking from the kickdown/gearshift linkage. it isnt a big one just a drip hear and there but i want to know if i can easily fix it. if the is a seal or can i just tighten up the the retaining nut or what thanx for the help

If I remember right, it's either an O-ring or a crush seal (I think the O-ring). Tightening the nut will only be a short temporary fix, if at all. The shifting motion will only start the leak again sooner than later and applying too much torque to the nut will only end up with a broken shaft that will leave you stranded.

If the leak is between the shift lever and the case you need to drop the pan to get the shift lever out. If the leak is between the shift lever and the kickdown lever there is an o-ring to change, just remove the nut and lever to change it. The nut is tight retightening it will not fix anything.
