Well, took my 04' F-250 4X4 Powerstroke to the dealer to have turbo replaced that was diagnosed a week ago. I told him about the engine stalling in a heavy downpour and about the poor fuel mileage (9mpg). Got a call just a moment that they also need to replace the EGR, CAC Tube and Clamps, Mass Air Flow, and complete breather assembly from the grill to the turbo. This truck only has 4800 miles on it and the EGR connection fell off about 3000 miles ago (he! he!),makes me wonder what in the world happened for them to have to replace all of the air piping including the fresh air tubing and breather. Any Ideas? While I am here just want to mention what a great sight this Is!!!
Update> Got the truck back this afternoon and let me tell you it runs and shifts like another truck all together. They replaced all the items stated above but that is where it gets interesting. Nothing under the hood looks the same. There is now a shield attached to the fan shroud, and most of the intake and intercooler lines are in a diffrent shape and arrangement. (due to water and snow kit, so they said) They also said that they reprogramed the pcm to fix the poor fuel mileage. When I left the dealership I drove the truck about 150 miles and the fuel needle has hardly moved. This truck didn't perform this nice when it was new. Can't help but love a Powerstroke Superduty when they're right.
