Problem with superchip programmer.

Hello to all, I have a1997 ford f150 4.6. I installed superchips program into my truck and ever since I have had nothing but problems. If I stomp on the gas right off the line it shifts right through the gears and if I stomp on the gas (freeway speeds) to down shift I have to play with the pedal (accelerating/decelerating) to get it to come out of gear. I have since sent the transmission to the race shop to be rebuilt (it had 130,000 miles) to see if that’s the problem (a very expensive test). Has anyone else experienced this problem with the shifting? Also the superchips program wouldn’t reset to my stock program so I returned the product.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Chris

I had a Superchips chip and when I would go to pass a car it would upshif down shift seaching the gears. I pulled the chip and it went right away. It would only do it about 50-60 miles per hour but it really irritated me.

My only problem is I used the programmer that plugs into the truck. Can I go buy a stock chip instead of the whole computer? Ford quoted me about 400.00 for the computer, which isn’t bad, but I wonder if there is another way I should be handling this? Oh and thanks for the quick reply.
