Last week I heard a noise from underside of my truck from the bell housing. With a lamp i look to the two small holes and found a piece of metal. I pulled it out and it is a part of a broken spring.
The spring has a diameter of 32mm (about 1 1/3" ?? )
Did anybody know where it come from ? Is it from a torsion damper of the clutch disc or from the dual mass flywheel ?
It´s a 03 F250 PSD, manual trans, 6.0 diesel.
Now with 54k on it.
The clutch plate and pressure plates both have springs on them. Also the clutch release lever may have a tension spring to keep it from rattling. In any event, it sounds clutch related.
I get the information that the clutch disc has no torsion springs, so I ordered a flywheel and a pressure plate with bearings and a release lever. I hope the parts coming this year.... Parts 412,31 and shipping 250 boahh.
Thank you for your help over the sea to southern germany.
