I've been searching my area for a '05 Reg Cab 6.0 that I could test drive. 99% of the 250's in this area are SuperCabs. And if I do find a Reg Cab, is a 5.4 with a snow plow.
Will I be hurting my resale chance someday if I order a Reg Cab? I like the idea of an 8' box but don't want a Supercab + 8' box (wont fit on my hoist).
I think you limit yourself resale-wise (is that a word?) a little bit by looking regular cab. The market is supercab crazy now. You can tell by the dealer lots.
I don't think its that big of a deal though. Get the truck you need to do the job you want. You have to live with it until you trade/sell it someday...you might as well be happy with what you are paying for.
I am looking forward to the day when I can get a regular-cab like you are looking for as my commuter truck. I will keep my current rig as a people hauler.
ask the dealer to search for one, alot of people are buying crew cabs around here. it might hurt resale altough there some just like you out there that may be looking for what you have. see if you can fit the supercab on you hoist,it is about 20" longer only four if you go with the short bed.
As long as the short box Supercab is the same wheelbase as a longbox Regular Cab, either will fit on my hoist.
Will the regular vs supercab fit the same as far as front seat room? Recline and/or seat travel?
wheelbases as follows:
regular cab 137.0"
super cab swb 141.8"
super cab lwb 158.0"
crew cab swb 156.2"
crew cab lwb 172.4"
all the interior measurements are the same for all models.(as afr as leg, hip, shoulder, etc room)
