I've been trying to figure out why my right side instrument light on my dash is dull and you can barely see it. It's coming from the same source of power as the left side and my aftermarket gauges. I've replaced the wire, the socket and the bulb. I even though it was a poor ground and cleaned the area around the socket. It's a mystery to me. Any suggestions? It really drives me nuts at night time, not to mention looks bad when you look at the dash instruments.
Are you sure the bulb is the same size as was in there. The #55 and #57 are different brightness. I put the bright ones in my instrument cluster and the others in my turn signal and high beam indicators.
the problem could be that your old bulbs are intellectually challanged. I work with lots of dull bulbs. If you want, you could try talking with them to get them interested in being brighter, but it can result in them stealing YOUR light and you becoming dull. My experience is it's better to just cut your losses and find bulbs with a little more life experience and a 'brighter' perspective ... one that enjoy their jobs and their enthusiam shows in their work.. What ever path you take... move toward the light... life is just too short to deal with too many dull bulbs.
51 Ford, thanks for the advice, I'll check the numbers again to make sure.
jniolon- I haven't got a clue what you just said. For a moment, I felt like I was laying on your couch explaining why I see so many lepricrons flying around my room. Thanks for the advice anyways.
