Never heard any good words about headers on our trucks, most I have seen just use the original manifolds then do drastic changes with exhaust system.

Do you have a turbo? not found headers for a diesel but ATS and other companies have complete systems. Manifold back or Turbo back they are 3inch pipes.

Patriot...........just one suggestion, if you do the header change please save your manifolds. The replacement cost is enough to scare anyone to death.

You can buy some headers from Stan's Headers in Washington. http://www.stansheaders.com/ part #269 $456.40 US. I just bought a pair and will be putting them on this spring. They are chrome as well. Nice looking unit. 16 gauge steel for the main tubes then 14 gauge where they meet. I am looking forward to trying them out. Oh, ya, these won't work with a turbo for obvious reasons. Enjoy.

Do you think that putting in an H, Y, or X pipe really makes a difference? You won't hurt anything if you don't have one will you?

Thanks for the help. I still have some time before I put in the headers and redo the exhaust so I can still research the issue. The truck I owned before this one was a 80 chev with a 305 and dual exhaust and I am pretty sure I didn't have a H pipe of any sort and that thing ran strong.
