Looking to put a leveling kit on my 6.0 PSD 4x4 SRW F350. Wondering if the shackle modification is better than an add-a-leaf type kit. I only want to level the front and put slightly larger tires on that will not rub, with no other modifications. So I am also wondering what tires will fit with these lifts. Any info from people who have done these modifications would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
There are pro's and con's to add-a-leaf's and hanger kits. The add-a-leaf kits will make for a little harder ride up front while the hanger kits will allow for a stock ride. The problem with the add-a-leaf kits is that they can loose their arch if wheeled. With the weight of the PSD you may be better off with a whole new leaf pack or a hanger kit. Also, remember you'll need a trac bar bracket to keep everything in line.
As for tires, I'm running 35's right now with stock alum. wheels and no lift. I only have rubbing on the springs at full lock. If I was to go with aftermarket wheels I'd need a kit up front as the tires would hit the fenders and the air dam. Now I've got maybe an inch of clearance on both sides. So with the kit you'd be fine with 35's. They fill up the fenders nicely.
