rear frame crossmember
I have installed a 70 mustang gas tank in the rear of the frame and need to replace the rearmost crossmember, I have it but it was not attached to the frame when I got it. My question is since the crossmember has a curve in it, which way does the curve go, up or down?

I'm intending to do this mod to my 51 - does the rear crossmember have to be welded in place...or is it actually better to bolt it in (I believe it is currently riveted in place in the stock frame) or does it make any real difference in a practical sense?

look in my gallery for what i did i bolted mine all back in with grade eight bolts lock washers and nuts i also had to notch the crossmember for clearance i was worried about the strength so i welded some strap steel in the area that i cut out oh and by the way the curve goes up
