msd ignition help

hey guys...
i just put a msd 6a box w/ tfi blaster coil, new accel spiral wires, and gaped my plug .010 over stock. my question is im not really getting any performance out of the motor. i thought it would be a noticable change. my questions are:
1. should i lenghten the gap on the plugs to .060?
2. should i increase the timing?
3. anything else?

i just thought it would run better than it does. it didnt seem to make a difference at all. thanks alot in advance...

Well you did'nt add a super charger....but seriously I have the same setup almost and your not going to notice anything really. I noticed more difference from the new spark plugs when I did it.

I went with a MSD adjustable timming module that replace's the OEM module, and it's awsome. If im playing tug a war with a blazer or towing the car trailer I can adjust the timming from inside the Bronco.Or if I by accident get crappy gas I can adjust for best peformance from the mill.Just thought i'd share that.

The MSD unit I got you can adujust in either 14*either way,or what the off roader's magizine said to set my dist. at 0# so this way I can have the MSD adjustable timimng set at 10*,and be able to go 7* either way advance or retarded.Cool item for only $159.00.I turn it up to 11-12* when pulling a heavy load for a distance.Or I just bump it up a little when I get crappy gas.Awsome deal it is.

i have a msd 6a box, msd tfi coil, and msd billet distributor with mechanical advance in my 85 351 4v h.o. bronco. i run belden 8.5 mm wires and autolite plugs gapped at .050 the advance springs are the heavy silver ones that open at about 3000 rpm. i couldnt tell the difference from a stock duraspark ignition and the msd box and coil setup until after i installed the msd distributor, the billet distributor made all the difference in the world. it pulls the front end up and leaps forward when i mash the throttle now! never before thats for sure! lol! must be something to do with when the advance kicks in? i dont use a timing light on this setup either, i just line up the stator and reluctor at TDC and its good to go.
