lifting a 2wd

this may be a tad to soon to bring up but I want to lift my 2wd 85f150 and do the pre runner look. Not too high maybe 2 inches or so. Any ideas?

Might also want to check out pre-runner style fenders, as they give the lifted look, but require installation only, with no super fancy mods. Rancho suspension is likely to have what you're currently looking for, as well as a few other suspension manufacturers. Buy the most complete kit you can, as it will require less for alignment later. It should include correction kit for radius arms, bushing kits for both ends(preferrably poly-urethane) as well as longer shocks and coil springs and either add-a-leafs or re-arched rear springs.

I have a chance to get ahold of a lift from a 4x4 bronco. 3 inch suspension lift. will this work on a 2wd? or can you make it work?

Theoretically the springs should be the same for the front, but not sure about the back. The bushings for the radius arms will likely be different though, depending on how complete this kit is. I'd wager a guess that some of it could be used, but that you'll end up needing parts specific to the 2wd as well. Might want to simply check with places that sell lift kits made by decent name brand companies, and buy one specific to the cause. One rule of thumb with lifts...the more complete the kit, the easier time you'll have of making it all work.

yeah see im not even that sold on a kit at all. a body lift would be fine if i even go the route i talkeed about. This lift was pretty cheap so i thought id ask. Im more concerned with getting it running smoothly first.
