My son just purchased a 1989 F150 - 4.9 liter straight six engine - short wheel base. When we brought it home, headlights and turn signals worked fine. After attempting to install stereo, headlights, turn signals do not work. Checked all fuses in fuse panel under steering column and are fine. Is there another fuse panel (i.e. under the hood) that we are overlooking. Seems like we have searched high and wide all to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you disconnect the battery while installing the stereo? You may have burned out a fusible link. They are over near the starter relay on the passenger side fender. They look like little rubber pieces made into the wire, and are colored. If you find one burnt out, the parts stores have new ones to solder back in.
