cam spacer

I did not have a cam spacer on the engine when I disassembled it. When is one used and where can you get one? I'm wondering now if I will need one once I get the block plug problem cured.

Cam spacer?? You mean thust plate on the outside or the little horseshoe shaped spacer between the cam and cam gear? In most cases if your using and aftermarket timing set you don't need the spacer as the cam gears are thicker to compensate for the spacer. If your using and original timing set that requires the spacer you need one. I'm not sure what spacer you mean as you mention the block plug problem also. Can you give me more details?? G.

I have only read about the spacer in a couple of places and it has only said "if you require the spacer". I did not know what circumstances require it. I'm using an after market set.

You should not need the spacer then. If that was something you read in the Christ book yes they are a little vauge on that part. G.
