LLS Questions

Hi,

I have a 2000 Expedition EB with about 45K miles. My wife ususally drives this, but I have driven it this last weekend and everything seemed fine.

So Last night I get home and notice the rear was all the way down. So I start it up, put it in drive to see if the compressor comes on, and see what else happens. Well it doesn't come on. So I think I need a fix. I read a thread about converting it to non LLS, so I may eventually do that. However, this morning I go outside and the thing is sitting up where it should be. I started it up this morning also, but noticed the compressor didn't come on until I released the parking brake (I didn't do that last night). So this morning it all seems well.

I'm guessing this is only the beginning of problems. But my question is, is there anything in particular that would cause that to happen?

Thanks,
Mike

Rule out Rule

Always try to rule out possibilities. The compressor works sometimes, but not all times. I would first look at the compressor on a day where it doesn't run with the car running. Check for loose connections and operating voltage at the motor. If there is none, you'll need to backtrack further. Next try the load-leveling switch that controls the compressor. Make sure of its connections and also check for voltage there. If there is none, check relays, fuses, and ignition switch. I'd guess your not getting voltage to the compressor. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
