Good luck with non-ford heads. I am curious though what problems are you talking about? My own ranger is still going strong at 140,000 miles and others appear okay. I've heard of a few blown head gaskets but that's about it.

World Products makes a set of 2.9 heads that are much thicker castings that OEM. You can get them from Summit Racing they are on line at Summit Racing.com if I remember right bare heads run about $225 each and fully assembled run $325 each. Hope this helps......
