Well I finally got around to taking my 04 SCrew 4X4 Lariat in for service. I changed the oil myself (Mobile 1) at 2500 miles and wanted the dealer to fix the throttle lag. The rig now has 4500 miles. I printed off the TSB from this site (thank you!) and after much explaining my issue of "no touch" in the throttle especially when backing up to a trailer, I had to whip out the TSB. What a change of opinion! Suddenly the truck was put back on the computer and a new PCM reflash was installed. What a difference! The truck has come alive... I wanted to wait until the truck had some miles before reflashing. My point...If you go to the dealer for service, go prepared. Don't act like a Cliff Clavin, be respectful and you will get what you need. This site is great...
Sorry for the delay in responding. This is the TSB on "Hesitation on Acceleration and/or Erratic Idle When Coming to a Stop" TSB 04-21-14 Publication Date October 18, 2004.
When I showed the Service Manager this TSB (I had what I call "Throttle Lag") he quickly put my truck back in the bay and updated the computer. The truck will now spin its tires from a dead stop on dry pavement (which I avoid). Also, when backing up to my trailer I can "control" the trucks movement 100% better. I have a much more positive accelerator pedal feel.
