Louvered tail gate ??
My son insist he gets better mileage with his tail gate down, he has a '04 F-250 ..
If this is the case why not just get a louvered one ?
Is there really that much difference ?

I have the V10, so it don't matter if I have it up or down; nor if I take the bed completely off.
But, I have heard from some folks that say it gives them about 2 more MPG - this from those that run the smaller engines in their trucks, that is.

Actually you get better mileage with the tailgate up. Search the net (yahoo or some other site) for:
pickup mileage tailgate down
I saw a site with wind-tunnel tests on a Dodge, the results were:
* Best mileage: custom cap with a "fastback"
* 2nd Best Tonneau cover
I forget where the full-cap mileage ranged at...
